The “How to?

In addition to the new eyewear trends and other new products, a variety of activities are expected to enliven the three days of the fair. On 4 February, the programme will feature the ANFAO project “Empowering Optical Women Leadership” to support women on their way to a leadership career in the eyewear industry. The meeting at MIDO will be moderated by journalist Barbara Serra, sponsored by Fondazione Bellisario and held in collaboration with SDA Bocconi (School of Management).

MIDO Awards Ceremonies …

On 5 February in the Fashion District (Pavilion 1), the MIDO annual awards ceremony will be held to recognise outstanding optical shops, exhibitors and, from this year, companies in the sector. In addition to the traditional “BeStore Award” for optical shops that offer an outstanding shopping experience and customer service, and the “Stand Up For Green Award”, which is being presented for the second time for the stand that does the most for the environment, the “CSE – Certified Sustainable Eyewear Award” will be presented for the first time this year. It was launched by MIDO in cooperation with ANFAO and Certottica and honours sustainability in the global eyewear industry. The award ceremony will be hosted by fashion and lifestyle journalist Chiara Tronville.

… and more

Finally, on Saturday and Sunday, in Pavilion 1 near the Press Village, an augmented reality photo set will transport visitors and exhibitors into the “MIDO 2023 Frames” communication campaign.

In conjunction with MIDO 2023, the conference “Ophthalmology, optics and optometry: new technologies and the future” will also be held on 4 February in the “Fieramilano Rho” auditorium, organised in partnership with MIDO by the publisher of b2eyes and EyeSee. Participants will include MIDO and ANFAO president Giovanni Vitaloni, as well as representatives from Italian politics, the eyewear industry and retail, and ophthalmologists.
