Marchon Eyewear awarded two SILMO d’Or
Marchon Eyewear, Inc. was honored with two of the coveted 2018 SILMO d’Or Awards at their 25th annual gala awards ceremony held on Saturday evening, september 29, at the Musee des Arts Forains in Paris, France.
Marni Eyewear won the “Fashion Trend Optic Frame” category for a new style (ME2623), a rectangular optical design offered in a distinctive mix of contrasting colorblocked acetates. The style is achieved through a handmade process that bonds the two front layers together.
Salvatore Ferragamo Eyewear won the “Fashion Trend Sunglasses” category for their new “Fiore” style (SF184S), which is a glamorous butterfly design characterized by a gold frame-front enriched with triple gradient lenses. A singular flower-shaped detail on each of the temples pierces the lens, creating an exquisite metallic “fiore” bloom.
For 2018, Marchon Eyewear brands were nominated for five women’s styles spanning three brands and two SILMO d’Or Awards categories. The five nominations included the two above winning styles as well as Longchamp Eyewear (LO2109) and Salvatore Ferragamo Eyewear’s “Fiore” (SF2174) for the “Fashion Trend Optic Frame” category; and, Longchamp Eyewear’s (LO623S) nomination for the “Fashion Trend Sunglasses” category.
Since 1994, the annual SILMO d’Or Awards rewarded and celebrated the creativity and inventive spirit of the optics and eyewear industry. For more information visit www.silmoparis.com.
