SILMO and its partners have been developing various event formats to complement the Paris show. The global pandemic now inspired them to create the “Specs and the City” concept: several smaller showrooms in one city, starting in August at several locations in Europe.
With large gatherings of people banned in a single showroom, what if a city hosted several small spaces for high-end individual meetings? Copenhagen Specs and SILMO introduce a new event in their family of events: Specs and the City.
The principle: decentralization
The concept: over the course of a weekend, participating brands and companies will welcome customers and potential customers to showrooms they have set up in a defined area at one of the event’s partner hotels to make it easier to get there on foot or by bike. Using a special app, visitors can easily organize their weekend, alternating between meetings with exhibitors, cultural excursions and gourmet meals.
“Specs and the City” takes a fresh look at industry meetings, transforming them into a “unique experience in each of the host cities, which will showcase all their charm and treasures to welcome the ophthalmic community,” organizers explain.
