100% Optical: More independents, more training

The organisers of the UK’s biggest optical show, 100% Optical, have set out from the start to encourage independent eyewear designers and manufacturers. The three-day show, to be held at ExCeL London from 25-27 February 2023, will feature the largest ever range of products.

Nathan Garnett, Director of the show, commented, “100% Optical was born out of a desire to provide independent frame designers and manufacturers with an international show in London, so independent manufacturers have always been a highlight and a key focus. In 2023, we’re taking this a step further by creating a new Makers Corner with interactive sessions that will shine the spotlight on unique craftspeople who create innovative optical designs and promote sustainability. Keep your eyes peeled to learn more about this exciting new feature at 100% Optical in the coming weeks.”

Extensive programme at 100% Optical

Visitor registration is already open for the rapidly growing 2023 event, which will offer the show’s largest education programme to date. Last month, in collaboration with the AOP, an extensive programme of around 140 educational sessions was announced across 11 different centres.

A new process for booking popular educational events was also announced, with bookings open from January and priority access given to attendees who register in advance. The first phase of 100% Optical’s education programme is now online, with further events to be released later this month and in December.

The 100% Optical sessions include keynote lectures, discussion workshops, peer reviews and interactive poster trails. Key topics include the treatment of myopia, advances in clinical imaging, including the role of artificial intelligence, and dry eye disease, with content designed to meet the needs of all types of clinicians.
