Pandemic forces relocation

MIDO 2022 goes back to the roots

MIDO 2022 is returning to its origins – due to the pandemic – and will now take place from 30 April to 2 May instead of mid-February as planned. According to the organisers, the decision to move the show was made to give exhibitors and visitors the best business conditions, even in this global pandemic situation.

MIDO date as at the beginning

The new date is a strategic time of the year for trade and internationalisation, taking the Milan fair back to its origins as its first edition was held in the month of May, and it is hoped that the arrival of spring will also bring safer and easier travel between countries.

Chairman Giovanni Vitaloni: “Today it seems clear to us that an international fair held in February would risk having fewer participants, both exhibitors and visitors. We want to respond to the needs of companies and confirm MIDO as the top event of the year, in a 2022 that already shows clear signs of recovery in the global eyewear industry.”

Preparations in place

Preparations for numerous programme items have already been made. In addition, the digital platform launched last June for MIDO 2021 is already available for initial contacts to be made ahead of the event in April. Visitor registrations for travel by special trains can also already be booked directly via the website www.mido.com.
