DaTE 2022: The countdown has started

From 10 to 12 September 2022 at Leopolda di Firenze, 100 companies from all over the world and 170 brands will exhibit their collections, whose lowest common denominator is creativity. But DaTE is more – exchange of ideas and networking among eyewear professionals, a place to do business, an international source for all in search of inspiration, innovation and avant-garde.

“The 2022 edition promises to be a unique experience,” says DaTE President Giovanni Vitaloni, “not only because DaTE is celebrating its 10th anniversary, a milestone for an event that has grown and gained importance in the panorama of industry events, but also because this year we have planned a sister event in Milan, MEDD By DaTE: Milano Eyewear Design Day, a special non-commercial event that will take place for one day only, 17 October.”

Around DaTE

MEDD By DaTE is open to everyone – not only eyewear professionals and the press, but also eyewear lovers, designers and students – a space for creative exchange and reflection on design in its purest form. The programme of the event in Milan includes award ceremonies and an exhibition of eyewear that has made history. The eyewear competing for the MEDD-sponsored prize will be selected during DaTE Firenze and the winner announced on 17 October at the ADI Design Museum.

DaTE will also be the focus of another special event, “L’arte di fare Moda” (The Art of Fashion), this time for the press, which will take place on Wednesday 7 September at 6pm at the Biblioteca Pinacoteca Accademia Ambrosiana di Milano (Pinacoteca Library and Ambrosian Art Gallery in Milano).

“We wanted to participate again in this event that celebrates the best Italian fashion shows and where culture is the focal point around which the different areas revolve. We invite you to discover with us the treasures of history with which we tell our own story in a very different way,” concludes Vitaloni.

At this event, the seven fair organisers involved in the #finallytogether project (DaTE, HOMI Fashion&Jewels, MICAM Milano, MIPEL, TheOneMilano, Lineapelle and SIMAC) will pay tribute to the quintessence of the entire supply chain through seven representative works designed to convey the industry’s expression through art.

Registration for visitors is still open on the DaTE website. Digital badges will be delivered by email and can be scanned on site with a smartphone.
